Development
Like anywhere in the world, users of the Falkland Islands marine environment are constantly looking for new ways to use marine resources. Either for leisure or extraction for food/material production. The existing use changes and development occurs. Developers and other users have the opportunity to provide benefits to the Falklands marine environment.
In order to avoid environmental impacts and for developers to contribute positively, development needs to be considered both strategically and on a case by case basis. Falklands Conservation collects data to inform impact assessments for development, comments on development proposals and works to reduce the impacts of human activities.
